Ingredients for batter:
1 cup sooji (ravo)
1 cup yogurt
1/3 cup water
1 tsp green chili paste
pinch of hing
1 tsp salt
1 tsp eno
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp sesame seeds

Tempering:
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
5-6 curry leaves
2-3 green chilies finely chopped
1/8 tsp asafoetida (hing)

Method:
Put a greased tray in a steamer on medium heat.(I used 9 inch round tray).
In a bowl, mix sooji, yogurt, water,green chili paste, hing, salt. Mix lump free. now  add oil and eno mix well till bubble appears.
Pour the batter immediately in the tray and spread evenly. sprinkle sesame seeds. you can also sprinkle some red chili powder (optional)

IMG_3596Steam it for 15-20 min. after 20 min insert a knife to see if it comes out clean. if not steam 2-3 min more until knife comes out clean.

For tempering, in a small skillet heat 2 tb oil and add mustard seeds. once mustard seeds splutter – add  asafoetida, curry leaves and green chilies.turn off the stove. spread tempering over the dhokla. Cut dhokla in square or diamond shape.

Rava dhokla is ready to serve.. enjoy with tea/coffee or just like that!!!
