Palak Paneer (spinach cottage cheese gravy)

IMG_4219Very easy version of Palak Paneer recipe.. truly home version!! Must try…

Serving: 4 People





1 lb chopped palak (450 grams) (Not Boiled)
5 medium sized tomatoes roughly chopped
2-3 green chilies
2 cups water

4 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp garam masala
1  tbsp red chili powder
1 1/2  tbsp lemon juice
salt to taste
14 oz paneer cut into small cubes(400 grams) ( NOT FRIED)
Blend all the ingredients listed under Gravy to make smooth puree. ( add some extra water if needed , need to keep thick puree)
Heat the oil in nonstick pot at medium flame. Add hing, turmeric powder, tomatoes. saute for 1-2 min till tomatoes becomes soft.
Add spinach puree, garam masala, chili powder, lemon juice, salt. Let it cook for 10 min so that palak is cooked completly and also gravy will become little thick. Add little water if the gravy looks too thick.
Please cover the pot so that gravy does not spill out. Keep steering in between.
Add paneer cubes &  mix it well. (Paneer cubes are not fried)

Palak Paneer is ready… Serve hot with Naan, Paratha or Rice!!!
