Rava Idli / upma mix


Rava idli / upma mix is very easy to prepare and it can be stored for couple of days to have it handy. Make upma / rava idli in no time!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 tbsp oil/ghee
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp hing / asafoetida
handful of curry leaves
2 tbsp broken cashews
1tsp split skinless urad dal
1 cup sooji (semolina / rava)

Method:

In a skillet, heat the oil/ghee on medium flame. Add mustard seeds in hot oil & let it splutter. Then add urad dal, cashews and curry leaves. Roast on low medium flame till udad dal & cashews become pink and curry leaves become crunchy. Now, add sooji. Roast everything for 5-7 minutes till sooji turns light pink and aromatic. Make sure don’t burn sooji or don’t let it turn brown.

Rava idli / upma mix is ready to use!

Let it cool down completely and then store it in air tight container.
